Indiana Tech renovates Seitz building with LEED

Primary Engineering has been selected to provide engineering design services in conjunction with the renovation of the Indiana Tech University, Seitz Building. This is a historic building originally constructed in the 1850′s that will be renovated as a sustainable building on campus and will seek LEED Gold Certification.
Energy Efficient Lighting

Primary Engineering has recently completed an upgrade to the lighting systems in their Fort Wayne office to use LED light fixtures. Elkhart County Sheriff Administration

Primary Engineering has been selected as the mechanical and electrical engineer firm to design the new Elkhart County Sheriff Administration Building, located in Elkhart, Indiana. Construction is expected to be complete in 2009.

Notre Dame Dormitory Renovations

Primary Engineering has been selected to provide engineering services in conjunction with the renovations of Zahm Hall and Breen Phillips Hall at Notre Dame University, located in South Bend, Indiana. These historic buildings will recieve a face lift and upgrade to the restroom facilities.
Elkhart Schools Saves Big on Boiler operations

Elkhart School Corporation, located in northern Indiana, recently completed boiler plant upgrades in two schools recently with the assistance of Primary Engineering. They are currently experiencing a fuel savings over 30% from prior years that included milder weather. This savings is a result of a cutting edge sequence of control that maintains the boilers in a condensing mode and maximizing plant efficiency at all times of operation. Mike Lubbehusen and USGBC

The Indiana Chapter of the United States Green Build Council (USGBC) has chartered a new Fort Wayne branch and Mike Lubbehusen was elected to the Steering Committee for this new group. He will be assisting with the programs committee to establish community meetings and speakers to provide technical resources to the local membership. Mike has previously spent time as an officer with the Fort Wayne ASHRAE chapter and continues his involvement as a board member.
Saving Energy – St. Vincent House

Primary Engineering and Viridian Architectural Design teamed up to perform a free energy audit for a Fort Wayne charitable organization, Vincent House, that provides transitional housing for homeless families. Their facilities are housed within several buildings that date back to the 1930’s and in need of many repairs. A complete facility walk-through was provided and list of energy saving measures provided to help the charity to reduce their operating expenses. The services provided by this group are in great demand and this free service will assist them in better serving the needs of the public.
