Bishop Luers High School
Renovation of the existing heating system with new 2-pipe change-over heating and cooling system and high efficiency condensing boilers. Additional work included new glazing systems and replacement of an old curtain wall system. Completed Spring 2008.
Kosciusko 21st Century Foundation, Warsaw, Indiana
This is a new facility that will be used to house several public assistance and support agencies for the City of Warsaw, Indiana. The design includes the use of waster source heat pumps, solar shading that is designed to maximize the solar gain in winter and minimize it during summer, and a solar thermal collection corridor that will allow solar energy to be collected in the winter and reused in other spaces. Construction is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2008.
Northrop High School, Fort Wayne, Indiana:
Originally constructed in 1972, Northrop HS was served by (2) very large fire tube boilers that were replaced in the mid 90’s with similar equipment and did not provide efficiencies that were desired. During the Summer of 2007, this boiler plant was replaced with (9) modulating high efficiency boilers and a new pumping system that allows for multiple boiler failures without losing the ability to heat the building. Additionally, this plant is being controlled to operate the boiler plants above 90% efficient during most of the heating season.
Communication Shelters – Nicsemi, Italy and Perth, Australia:
A series of redundant communications shelters were designed for the US military with locations throughout the USA and remote locations in Australia and Italy. Each of these buildings houses a large amount of technology equipment and required a substantial cooling load that was met with precision by Primary Engineering. This is a unique project for us because many of the details surrounding the exact location and purpose of these shelters are classified. This is an example of our ability to work with clients who have special needs and circumstances that require an engineering partner they can trust.
